AMHERST, N.Y. – East Coast Conference play opened Saturday morning for the Queens College women's soccer team in Amherst, N.Y. against the Wildcats of Daemen University at Karrer Field.
Despite holding a 3-1 shots on goal margin, the Knights fell short in their ECC opener with a 1-0 loss to the Wildcats.

- The Knights were the aggressor in the first 25 minutes of play with Queens holding a 4-1 shots advantage including back-to-back shots on goals from freshman Jenna Rosenberger (Smithtown, N.Y.) and junior Brianna Obregon (Deer Park, N.Y.).

- In the 42nd minute of play, junior Julia Ragone's (Centereach, N.Y.) shot would sail out left as the Knights went into halftime trailing 1-0.

- An offside called against the Knights in the 67th minute would cancel a counterattack opportunity.
- Freshman Anna Tavantzis (Holbrook, N.Y) shot on goal opportunity in the 87th minute of play would be turned away as the Wildcats held on to defeat the Knights to the final score of 1-0.
