FLUSHING, N.Y. - The Queens College men's soccer team has opened the season against two nationally ranked teams in their first three matches and have begun the year with a 0-2-1 record.
On Wednesday (Sept. 13) evening, the Knights welcome East regional ranked team Southern Connecticut State University Owls for a non-conference match before traveling to Buffalo, N.Y. for their East Coast Conference opener against Daemen University Wildcats on Saturday (Sept. 16) afternoon.

Queens College Knights Preview (0-2-1 Overall Record)
- Head Coach Frank Vertullo and the Knights went 0-1-1 last week earning a hard-fought draw against Felician University in their home opener before Queens fell 1-0 to #14 ranked Southern New Hampshire University team Saturday afternoon.
- Sophomore Harry Cooke (Market Drayton, England) leads the offense having tallied the lone goal on the season.
- His performance would earn Cooke a Honor Roll spot on the second ECC Weekly Report Sheet.
- In goal, the Knights are led by sophomore Jake Balme (Sheffield, England) who recorded 11 saves with a 1.67 goals against average.
- His saves last week would help him earn a Honor Roll spot on the second ECC Weekly Report Sheet.
Southern Connecticut State University Owls Preview (1-1-1 Overall Record)
- SCSU enters Flushing with a 1-1-1 overall record and are coming off a 1-0 to Mercy University Saturday afternoon.
- Wednesday's match will be the second straight meeting against the Owls with Queens holding a 1-0 series lead.
- It will be the first matchup against the Owls in Flushing.
- The Owls are led by Zico Groenveld who has tallied four points with one goal and two assists.
- While Tyler Doherty and Jacob Rose have recorded a goal apiece.
- In goal, Devin Juan has made 11 saves and holds a 0.67 goals against average.
Daemen University Wildcats Preview (1-1-1 Overall Record)
- Daemen has opened the year with a 1-1-1 overall record and are coming off a 1-1 tie against St. Michael's College on Saturday.
- The Wildcats will match up against Gannon on Wednesday afternoon before hosting the Knights on Saturday.
- Saturday's match will be the 10th meeting in program history against their ECC foe with the Knights leading the series 7-2.
- Queens earned a 3-0 victory in Flushing last season and are in search of their first victory in Amherst since the 2018 season.
- The Wildcats are led by Elijah Douglas who has tallied four points with two goals.
- While Alex Aguirre has recorded three points with one goal and an assist.
- In goal, Harry Firth has earned two starts making 10 saves with a 1.49 goals against average.

The Knights stay on the road as they travel to Philadelphia, PA on Wednesday (Sept. 20) evening with a non-conference matchup against Holy Family University Tigers. Kickoff set for 7:00 pm.
