FLUSHING, N.Y. - The Queens College men's soccer team went 2-0 on the week earning victories over Dominican and College of Staten Island to start a new two-match win streak.
This week the Knights travel to Springfield, MA. on Tuesday (Oct. 3) evening as they match up against the Yellow Jackets of American International College in non-conference play. The week concludes in East Coast Conference play as they travel to Washington, D.C. on Saturday (Oct. 7) afternoon with a matchup against the Firebirds of The University of the District of Columbia.

Queens College Knights Preview (5-3-1 Overall Record, 2-1 ECC)
- Head Coach Frank Vertullo and the Knights went 2-0 on the week earning a 10-0 non-conference victory over Dominican at home before closing the week with a 2-1 road ECC victory at College of Staten Island Saturday afternoon.
- On Tuesday (Sept. 26) Men's Soccer were awarded their second East Regional ranking of the year as they earned the #8 spot.
- Sophomore Harry Cooke (Market Drayton, England) leads the offense having tallied five goals and two assists for a team-high 12 points on the year.
- Cooke has earned three ECC Honor Roll spots on the weekly award sheet.
- Senior Adolfo Martinez Paquet (Sevilla, Spain) has tallied nine points with one goal and a team-high seven assists on the year.
- On Monday (Sept. 25) Paquet earned his first ECC Honor Roll spot of the year.
- In net, junior Juan Cruz Ladino (Cali, Colombia) and sophomore Jake Balme (Sheffield, England) have combined for 31 saves and hold a 1.44 goals against average with two shutouts on the year.
- Ladino would earn ECC Defensive Player of the Week honors on Monday (Sept. 18) afternoon.
- Balme earned an ECC Honor Roll spot in the second weekly award sheet.
American International College Yellow Jackets Preview (2-2-5 Overall Record)
- AIC enters the week with an overall record of 2-2-5 and are coming off a 0-1-1 week with a 1-1 tie against Saint Michael's and a 3-2 loss to Georgian Court.
- Tuesday's match will be the third match in program history with the Knights in search of their first win over the Yellow Jackets.
- It will be the first road match against AIC since the 2010 season when Queens fell 1-3 on Oct. 26.
- The Yellow Jackets are led by Manuel Schwarz who has tallied seven goals for a team-high 14 points, while Simba Pelletier has recorded nine points for three goals and three assists.
- In goal, Lucas Morales-Fernandez has played in eight matches recording 48 saves, and holds a 1.13 goals against average.
District of Columbia Firebirds Preview (3-4-3 Overall Record, 1-1-2 ECC)
- UDC enters the week with an overall record of 3-4-3 and 1-1-2 in ECC play and are coming off a 1-1 week with a 2-1 loss to STAC and a 4-0 victory over Daemen. The Firebirds will match up against East Stroudsburg on Wednesday before hosting the Knights on Saturday afternoon.
- Saturday's match will be the 12th meeting in program history with Queens holding a 8-2-1 series lead.
- Last season Queens earned a 2-0 victory at home on Oct. 8.
- The Firebirds are led by Axel Gamez who has recorded a team-high 12 points for six goals, while Ignacio Pericet has tallied three goals for six points on the year.
- In goal, three different goals have made appearances on the year as they have combined for 36 saves with a 1.60 goals against average.

The Knights open a three-match home stand beginning on Wednesday (Oct. 11) evening as they welcome the Panthers of Adelphi University to Flushing.
