This Week in Knights Athletics: Jan. 16 – Jan. 22 (Week 21)

FLUSHING, N.Y. – It will be another busy for the Knights as the men's and women's basketball continue East Coast Conference play at home before ending the week with a road trip. The men's and women's Indoor track and field continue their preparation for championship weekend with a trip to The Armory. 
 
Last Week's Recap:
 
Women's Basketball went 1-1 on the week as the Knights defeated Staten Island on Wednesday evening before falling short to the District of Columbia on the road in conference play. Junior Chelsea Reeves (Brooklyn, N.Y.) averaged 23.5 points per game.
 
Men's Basketball went 1-1 on the week as sophomore Sunnie Diamond (Hiram, GA) recorded a career-best 24 points in the victory over Staten Island at home. The Knights rally against the District of Columbia would fall short in conference play. 
 
The Knights continued their preparation for the ECC Indoor Track & Field Championship as they competed in the Spartan Invitational. Over the course of the meet, several Knights set career best in the meet Friday afternoon. Sophomore Hakeem Griffiths (Portmore, Jamaica) earned two personal bests as he set himself a PR of 23.51 in the 200-meter event and 6.28m in the long jump event. While in the Triple Jump, the sophomore placed 8th with a jump of 12.93m.

  • Saturday (Jan. 21) – Women's Basketball at Mercy College – 12:00 p.m.
  • Saturday (Jan. 21) – Men's Basketball at Mercy College – 2:00 p.m.
 
Tickets (Cash will be accepted at the door)
  • Adults: $5
  • Senior citizens | Children 5-15: $3
  • QC Students: Free of charge
Home Spectator Policy:
  • Anyone not vaccinated or cannot provide proof of negative test result will not be allowed entry into the campus
  • All Basketball home games take place in the South Gym.  
  • For continuous visitors (parents/relatives) of Queens College student-athletes, who will attend more than three home games a month, you must upload proof of vaccination or negative PCR test results within 7 days of entry through Cleared4.
All home games will be live-streamed on the ECC Network and fans can follow along on live stats.
