Men’s Soccer Concludes September with Non-Conference Action Against Georgian Court

FLUSHING, N.Y. – Non-Conference play returns as the Queens College men's soccer team welcomes the Lions of Georgian Court University to Flushing Tuesday (Sept. 27) evening at QC Soccer Field.
 
Game Time: 7:00 P.M.
 
Series History
  • Record: 3-2
  • Last Matchup: November 4, 2021 (W 2-0)  Current Streak: W2
  • It will be the sixth meeting between both sides in program history. 
  • The Knights are on a two-game win streak over the Lions with both wins coming on the road. 
  • At home, Queens hold a 1-1 record as they have outscored the Lions 3-1.

Queens College
  • Queens is 7-3 overall and are coming off of a 1-0 win victory over Roberts Wesleyan Saturday afternoon.
  • Sophomore Adolfo Martinez Paquet (Sevilla, Spain) leads the offense with a team-high 13 points, six goals, one assist, and four game-winning goals.
  • While freshman David Oprea (Oslo, Norway) has tallied three goals including two game-winners.
  • In goal, senior goalie Dario Giovanni Cruz(Guadalajara, México)  has made 33 saves for a 7-3 overall record with three shutouts and one combined shutout. 
  • On Monday (Sept. 19), the East Coast Conference awarded Paquet Offensive Player of the Week as the sophomore tallied four points and two goals as he helped the Knights go 2-0 last week. (Link)
    • The rookie tallied the lone goal in the Knights' 1-0 victory over D'Youville in the ECC opener.
  • Cruz was named Defensive Player of the week for the second straight week as he made four saves and earned two shutout victories in the Knights' 2-0 week. (Link)
Georgian Court
  • Georgian Court is 2-6-1 on the season and are coming off a 1-1 draw against Felician. 
  • Logan Romero leads the offense with six points having tallied three goals on the season. 
  • While Brandon Sogness has tallied two goals and one assist on the season. 
UP NEXT: Queens returns to East Coast Conference play to open the month of October as they welcome the Lions of Molloy University to Flushing on Saturday (Oct. 1) evening at QC Soccer Field. Kick-off is set for 5:00 P.M.
