Road Trip Continues as Men’s Soccer Travels to Rochester

FLUSHING, N.Y. – East Coast Conference play continues on Saturday (Sept. 24) afternoon as the Queens College men's soccer team matches up against the Redhawks of Roberts Wesleyan University at Soccer Stadium.
 
Game Time: 3:00 P.M.
 
Series History
  • Record: 4-5
  • Last Matchup: October 16, 2021 (L 1-5)  Current Streak: L1
  • It will be the 10th meeting between both sides in program history.
  • The Knights are in search of their first win over the Redhawks in Rochester since the 2017 season when they defeated Roberts Wesleyan 3-2.
  • On the road, Queens holds a 3-1 record against the Redhawks.

Queens College
  • Queens is 6-3 overall, 2-1 in ECC play as they coming off a 3-1 loss to #23 Mercy Wednesday afternoon.
  • Sophomore Adolfo Martinez Paquet (Sevilla, Spain) leads the offense with a team-high 13 points, six goals, one assist, and four game-winning goals.
    • Paquet tallied the lone goal against Mercy to run his tally to six on the season.
  • In goal, senior goalie Dario Giovanni Cruz(Guadalajara, México)  has made 32 saves for a 6-3 overall with two shutouts and one combined shutout. 
  • On Monday (Sept. 19), the East Coast Conference awarded Paquet Offensive Player of the Week as the sophomore tallied four points and two goals as he helped the Knights go 2-0 last week. (Link)
    • The rookie tallied the lone goal in the Knights' 1-0 victory over D'Youville in the ECC opener.
  • Cruz was named Defensive Player of the week for the second straight week as he made four saves and earned two shutout victories in the Knights' 2-0 week. (Link)
  • Queens has been slotted to finish sixth in the ECC Coaches Preseason Poll.
Roberts Wesleyan
  • Roberts Wesleyan is 5-3-1 overall, 2-0-1 in conference play, and are riding a three-game win streak.
  • They are coming off a 3-0 win over D'Youville Wednesday evening.
  • Tamas Nagy leads the offense with 17 points having tallied six goals and five assists on the season.
  • The Redhawks have been slotted to finish fifth in the ECC Coaches Preseason Poll.
UP NEXT: Queens returns to non-conference play to conclude the month of September as they welcome the Lions of Georgian Court University to Flushing on Tuesday (Sept. 27) evening at QC Soccer Field. Kick-off is set for 7:00 P.M.
