Men’s Soccer Hits the Road for the First Time

FLUSHING, N.Y. – The Queens College men's soccer team's first road test of the season comes in Hookset, N.H. with a matchup against Southern New Hampshire University Penmen on Saturday (Sept. 3) afternoon.
 
Game Time: 4:00 p.m.
 
Series History
  • Record: 0-4
  • Last Matchup: September 5, 2021 (L 0-2) | Current Streak: L4
  • Saturday's matchup will be the fifth meeting between both sides with SNHU leading the series 4-0.
  • It will be the first road match against the Penmen since the 2016 season when the Knights fell 1-3.
  • In their last meeting at home, Queens fell 2-0 as the Penmen scored in the second half.

Queens College
  • The Knights are on a two-game win streak having defeated Bentley and Chestnut Hill at home.
  • In the win over Chestnut Hill, sophomore Adolfo Martinez Paquet (Sevilla, Spain) led the way with three points as he tallied his second game-winner of the season and recorded an assist in freshman Bryce Cherry's (Amityville, N.Y.) first collegiate goal to help the Knights record a 2-1 victory.
  • In goal, Dario Giovanni Cruz (Guadalajara, México) made three saves to help the Knights pick up the victory.
  • On Monday (Aug. 29), the East Coast Conference awarded Paquet a spot on the Men's Soccer Weekly Honor Roll sheet for his game-winner against Bentley. (Link)
  • The Knights have been slotted to finish sixth in the ECC Coaches Preseason Poll.
Southern New Hampshire University
  • The Penmen opened the season on Thursday (Sept. 1) and defeated Georgian Court 1-0.
  • SNHU were led by Isnaba Namusse who recorded the lone goal, while Luca Shubitidze recorded an assist.
  • In goal, Jackson Rivers made two saves in the win.
  • Last season SNHU went 11-6-1 and fell 2-1 (OT) in the NE10 semi-final game against Franklin Pierce.
  • In the NE10 Men's Soccer Preseason Poll, SNHU has been slotted to finish third.
UP NEXT: On Wednesday (Sept. 7), the Knights resume action at home for a midweek non-conference matchup against the Rams of Jefferson University. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
