FLUSHING, N.Y. – On Wednesday (Sept. 29) afternoon, the Queens College Department of Athletics & Recreation completed renovations to the Outdoor Tennis Court.
As the years went on, the courts began showing wear-and-tear and needed repairs. Having become unplayable, the six outdoor courts went through a complete resurfacing totaling a cost of $170K.
The tennis courts are home to the Queens College men's and women's tennis programs, which hosts NCAA home matches including a hosting site for the East Coast Conference championships and NCAA East Regional Tournament.
Having newly indoor and outdoor renovated courts, this will open new opportunities for the Knights' tennis programs as they prepare for their championship runs throughout the season.
Also, the tennis courts serve various high school leagues and are home to the Flushing community and Queens College Summer Camp.
