FLUSHING, N.Y.- The Queens College women's soccer team opens East Coast Conference play with a road matchup against College of Staten Island Dolphins Saturday afternoon. The Knights lead the overall 1-0 as both sides met for the first time during the 2019 season.

Sara Messemer's early goals in the first half, the Knights held on for a 2-1 victory against the Dolphins in Flushing. The Knights held a 13-5 shots margin while putting eight to two shots on goals.

The Dolphins are 1-6 on the season and are currently on the four-game losing streak. Their lone goal scorer of the season are Emily Albano and Nadia Evola. Opponents have combined for a total of 30 goals against the Dolphins defense averaging 4.29 goals a game. As a team, the Dolphins are taking 3.0 shots a game and have tallied only 10 shots on goals in seven games. Three different goalies have earned playing time in between the nets with Sara Villacres have played 382:04 minutes while making 31 saves.
