BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - On Saturday afternoon the Queens College Knights softball team concluded their away schedule with a Saturday doubleheader against the University of Bridgeport in East Coast Conference (ECC) action at Seaside Park.
The Knights (2-18) were shut out in both games as they dropped the afternoon affairs to the score of 10-0, 8-0.
In game one, the Knights were held to three hits as senior
Marisa Sagona (North Babylon, N.Y.) (1-2 AB), junior
Noelle Bryggman. (Huntington, N.Y) (1-3 AB) and sophomore
Jenny Murphy (East Islip, N.Y.) (1-3 AB) knocked in a single apiece.
While in the nightcap, Murphy (1-2 AB, 2B) drove in the lone hit for the Knights with a double to center field in the top of the fourth inning.
The Knights left a total of combined eight runners on base including a bases-loaded situation in the top of the fourth inning in game one.
UP NEXT: On Sunday (May 2), the Knights will welcome D'Youville College Saints for a conference doubleheader. Prior to the start of game one, head coach
Amy Delmore and the Knights will honor their graduating seniors. Game one is slated for an 11:00 a.m. start time.
