Knights Student-Athletes Combine for 3.33 GPA in Fall Semester

FLUSHING, NY- Despite an ongoing pandemic, the Queens College student-athletes turned in one of their best academic performance in the classroom during the Fall 2020 semester. 
 
The Knights earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.33, besting the 3.13 during the 2020 spring semester. 
 
"The challenges of being a college student in the midst of a global pandemic are greater than most of us could ever imagine," Stated Director of Athletics and Recreation Rob Twible. "we are very proud of the hard work and commitment to academic excellence in the classroom by our student-athletes."
 
Highlighting the Knight's Fall semester:
  • 19 student-athletes posted a 4.0 fall semester GPA, and four student-athletes have a 4.0 cumulative GPA
  • 100 Knights achieved a 3.50+ GPA in the classroom
  • Overall 14 teams achieved a GPA above 3.0
  • The women's tennis team led all NCAA women's programs with a 3.61 fall GPA, while the men's tennis team continued to lead the male teams with a GPA of 3.62. 
  • The Dance team led all programs with 3.64 GPA.
  • For the semester, women's teams posted a 3.45 QPA, while men's team posted a 3.16 QPA.
