FLUSHING, N.Y. – The Queens College softball program has released its 2022 schedule.
The 32-game slate features four non-conference doubleheaders against local rivals and a 24-game East Coast Conference schedule. The Knights will host seven doubleheaders on the campus of Queens College.
Queens will face three teams that were in the NCAA postseason tournament last season.
The season begins on the road with five straight doubleheaders starting with a trip to Garden City, N.Y. as the Knights renew an old rivalry against the Panthers of Adelphi University. Both sides will be meeting for the time in seven years on Saturday (Mar. 19).
Queens will open East Coast Conference play against Molloy College Lions on Tuesday (Mar. 22) in Rockville Centre, N.Y. before returning to non-conference action with a trip to Orangeburg, N.Y. on Sunday (Mar. 27) against the Chargers of Dominican College.
The Knights will then trek to Sparkill, N.Y. as they go up against the Spartans of St. Thomas Aquinas College on Tuesday (Mar. 29). Queens will end the 10-game road trip with a trip to Pleasantville, N.Y. as they match up against Pace University Setters on Thursday (Mar. 31) in non-conference action.
After spending the first month of the season on the road, the Knights will finally play at home as they start a 12-game homestand beginning with back-to-back ECC action against the Saints of D'Youville College on Saturday (Apr. 2) and the 2x defending conference champions in the Purple Knights of the University of Bridgeport.
Queens will take a short break from conference play as they welcome the Cougars of Caldwell University on Thursday (Apr. 7) to conclude non-conference action.
Following the conclusion of non-conference action, the Knights will welcome the Mavericks of Mercy College on Saturday (Apr. 9), Dolphins of College of Staten Island on Tuesday (Apr. 12), and conclude the homestand against the Spartans on Thursday (Apr. 14).
After two weeks at home, the Knights travel to Bridgeport, CT for the last time in conference action as they go up against the Purple Knights on Saturday (Apr. 16). Following the trip to CT, Queens will play host to the Lions on Tuesday (Apr. 19) in their final home doubleheader of the season.
The regular season will come to a close on the road with three straight road trips beginning with a trip to Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. against the Mavericks on Thursday (Apr. 21). Queens will travel to Buffalo, N.Y. as they meet the Saints on Saturday (Apr. 23) before concluding the regular season with a trip to Staten Island on Tuesday (Apr. 26) against the Dolphins.
Looking to return to the conference tournament for the first time since winning in 2015, the ECC double-elimination tournament will begin on Wednesday (May. 4) and conclude with back-to-back days at the higher seed from Friday (May. 6) to Saturday (May. 7).
