Men’s Soccer vs. Daemen College Wildcats Game Day Preview

FLUSHING, N.Y.- The Queens College men's soccer team will look to conclude the season on a high note against Daemen College Wildcats in Amherst, N.Y. The Knights are 6-1 in their overall series against the Wildcats. They have outscored the Wildcats 19-7 and are averaging 2.71 goals per game.

Led by Kevin Quituizaca, Cristian Villalta, Romario Hulea, the Knights shut out the Wildcats in a 3-0 win. In a dominant performance, Queens not only outshot Daemen 24-1 but held the Wildcats without a shot on goal while outshooting them 10-0. 
 
Scouting Queens College Knights
 
Queens (8-7 overall, 3-5 ECC) have earned back-to-back shutout wins including a 2-0 win over Georgian Court University. The Knights have scored 22 goals on the season averaging 12.1 shots per game. Sophomore Nicholas Tagios (East Williston, N.Y.) leads the Knights with a team-high eight goals and three assists for a team-high 19 points. Sophomore Tobias Holtz (Sachseln, Switzerland) and freshman Leonel Zelaya (Amityville, N.Y.) have combined for seven assists and four goals on the season. Senior Erik Hernandez (East Elmhurst, N.Y.) has scored in four straight games including tallying back-to-back game-winning goals. In goal, Dario Cruz has started all 15 games and has led the Knights to five shutouts on the season. Cruz has faced 148 shots making 67 saves and holds a 1.81 goals-against average.
 
Scouting Daemen College Wildcats 
 
Daemen College (4-11 overall, 2-6 ECC) are on a two-game losing streak. The Wildcats have scored 17 goals and are averaging 10.9 shots per game. On the season Christian Lewin leads the offense with a team-high three goals, while five players have combined for 10 goals. Goalie Marcos Lerma Escobar has started 13 games this season while earning two shutouts this season. Escobar holds a 1.84 goals-against average with 75 saves on the season.
