Men’s Soccer at Molloy College Lions Preview

FLUSHING, N.Y.- The Queens College men's soccer team continues East Coast Conference play with a matchup against Molloy College Lions in Rockville Centre, N.Y. The Knights lead the overall series 8-5-1 and will look to maintain that series lead Saturday night.

The Knights' 2019 season ended at the hands of the Lions with a 2-0 loss in Flushing. Queens needed a victory over Molloy to make the ECC postseason but the visitors would play spoils to end the dream. 
 
Scouting Queens College Knights
 
The Knights (5-4 overall, 1-3 ECC) are stuck in a rut having suffered back-to-back 3-1 losses in conference play. Sophomore Tobias Holtz and Thomas Esperoe have scored a goal in the losses but the Knights have been unable to find momentum for the full 90 minutes. 
 
Sophomore Nicholas Tagios leads the Knights with six goals, one assist for a team-high 13 points. Holtz has been holding the midfield and has distributed a team-high three assists on the season. 
 
Scouting Molloy College Lions
 
The Lions (6-3-1, 4-0 ECC) are riding a five-game winning streak with four wins coming in conference play. On the season they are led by Peter Meyer with four goals and two assists for a team-high 10 points. While Kenneth Garcia and Gio Fabiano have scored two goals. Nick Conklu has started seven games for the Lions with a 5-2 record earning four shutouts. He has made 53 saves and holds a 0.70 goals-against average on the season. 
 
Next Match-up: The Knights will finally play host in one of two games this season as Roberts Wesleyan Comes to town on Saturday (Oct. 16). Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. in Central Islip, N.Y. at The Susa Orlin & Cohen Sports Complex.
