FLUSHING, N.Y.- The Queens College men's soccer
(5-3 overall, 1-2 ECC) team continues East Coast Conference play with a trip to Washington, D.C with a matchup against the University of the District of Columbia Firebirds Saturday afternoon. The Knights are on a five-game win streak against the Firebirds with an overall 7-1-1 series advantage, including a 6-1-1 conference record. Queens is averaging 3.22 goals a game against UDC having totaled 29 goals in the nine-game series.

It was a high-scoring game the last time both sides met as the Knights used five goals in the first half to defeat the Firebirds 7-3 in D.C. After a penalty kick put the Firebirds up 1-0, the Knights led by seniors Cristian Villalta, Kevin Quituizaca, and Romario Hulea went on a tear as the trio combined for five goals to end the first half. Emgi Gousse and Leo Pinot would add the finishing touches in the second half to put the game away.

The Knights are coming off a 3-1 conference loss against St. Thomas Aquinas as the Knights were unable to recover from a 2-0 hole in the first half. On the season the Knights have scored 13 goals and are averaging 10.9 shots per game. They have shut out Daemen College and College of Staten Island in their 1-0 wins. Victor Gomes leads the offense with seven goals and two assists for a team-high 16 points. While Joseluiz Avalos and Ignacio Pericet have tallied three goals on the season. In goal, Javier Abadia Torres has started six of the eight games in net totaling 29 saves, while allowing 16 goals.
