Box Score PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (Sept. 14, 2019) -
Victoria Ramirez sent in a shot off a cross from
Alexis Quealy to account for the lone goal in the Queens College women's soccer team's 1-0 triumph against Jefferson University on Saturday (Sept. 14) at Ravenhill Field in Philadelphia.
The Knights, with the win, even up their record on the year to 2-2 overall; Jefferson, meanwhile, falls to 0-2 on the 2019 campaign.
How It Happened
- The main highlight of the afternoon was Quealy taking a long pass down the near-side zone before sending in a cross to a waiting Ramirez. The ball looped over the final defender before the senior volleyed home the first and only strike of the game.
Knights That Shined
- Queens was actually out-shot in the contest by an 18-12 margin with eight of the Rams' shots on target; however, sophomore goalie Shenae Kreps saved seven shots with her defense clearing a ball off the back-line as well to preserve the shut-out.
- Ramirez led the team with three targets for the game while she shared the lead with Guro Eriksen in shots with three in total.
- Quealy and Sarah Marino added two shots in the contest.
Up Next on the Docket
