CENTRAL ISLIP, NY - Queens College men's soccer sophomore midfielder Jonathan Jaramillo was named East Coast Conference Rookie of the Week for his stellar performance against Philadelphia University in the team's season opener, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.  

Jaramillo, a local native of Queens, in his first career game for the Knights, registered the game tying goal in the 2-2 draw with the Rams. Trailing by one, Jaramillo knotted the game at two in the 74th minute with a rebound tally. Overall in the contest, Jaramillo posted two shot attempts as he helped the Knights snap a four game losing streak in season openers, dating back to 2011.

UP NEXT: Queens College stay on the road as they travel to Felician College to face the Golden Falcons at 3:00 pm The Knights then open a two game home stand starting Sept. 8 against Concordia with kickoff slated for 4:00 pm, before closing the weekend against St. Michaels with the match slated to start at 11:30 am.
