BROOKVILLE, N.Y. - The Queens College women's soccer team fell to LIU Post 1-0 Saturday afternoon in the team's East Coast Conference opener.

The Knights registered six shots in the contest, including four on goal.  Junior Erin Vernillo took three shots, all on goal, while junior Kaitlin Shea had two attempts.  On the other end, LIU Post took 18 attempts, with nine on net.

The Pioneers held a 7-4 shot advantage in the first half, forcing four saves by QC starting netminder Nicole Cranny.  In the second half, LIU Post outshot the Knights 11-2 and broke through in the 79th minute when Andrea Huntzinger tapped in a rebound for the go-ahead, and game-winning, goal.
