Box Score

CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. - Queens College men's soccer Emgi Gousse was selected as the East Coast Conference Rookie of the Week, the league announced.  It marks the second time in as many weeks that the Knights claimed the honor from the league.

Gousse earned the honors after scoring twice in QC's home victory over Concordia.  Gousse registered his first goal of the match fashionably quick with a through ball from senior Brian Belfont as he rocketed a shot 20 yards out into the left corner to give the Knights a lead in the opening six minutes of the match. Gousse scored his second goal of the match in the 73rd minute with a shot into the left far post.

Additionally, sophomore András Breuer earned a spot on the weekly honor roll.  Breuer registered six points on two goals and two assists for the Knights over three games this week. Breuer opened the week with an assist on QC's 45th minute goal in a 1-1 draw of Felician. Breuer lated added another assist in the Knights' 4-1 win over Concordia before scoring both goals in a 2-0 win over St. Michael's. Breuer opened the scoring in the 10th minute, before adding another in the 65th minute.

The Knights are off to their best start (2-0-2) in recent years and will look to keep their stellar performance going as they kick off a two game road trip. The Knights return to action on Tuesday (Sept. 12), as they travel to Holy Family University (1-3) for a 4:00 pm start before concluding the week with an ECC away opener at #8 ranked LIU Post on Saturday (9/17) for a 2:30 pm kickoff.
