Box Score QUEENS, N.Y. – The Queens College women's soccer team overcame an early one-goal deficit to draw even, 1-1, with LIU Post in a double-overtime match Saturday afternoon. Monica Lupo's equalizer in the 45th minute before halftime was the crucial factor in the Knights securing a point on the day.
The Pioneers' Susanne Vistness opened the scoring in the ninth minute, netting her eighth goal of the season on a free kick that beat Queens' keeper Megan Deak on the right side of the goal. Vistness had another chance in the 20th minute that was blocked by the Queens College defense before the Knights went on the attack with shots by Hayley Gibbons and Megan DeRosa. DeRosa's first effort in the 23rd minute drew a save by LIU Post's goalkeeper Katelyn Phillips, and her second, a header in the 40th minute, forced Phillips into action yet again.
The Knights pressure finally paid off in the 45th minute when Lupo, who came on in the 39th minute, was positioned on the inside of the box to connect on a free kick from Adriana Mendrinos and a touch from Nicolette Scrozzo. The goal was Lupo's first of the season and gave Scrozzo her second helper in the last three games.

Deak did her part to help the Knights stay even in the 69th minute by stopping three shots from the Pioneers.
