Box Score OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. - The Queens College women's soccer team concluded the 2015 season with a 3-1 victory over NYIT. Trailing 1-0 at half, the Knights responded with three second half goals.
The Bears got on the board in the 44th minute of the first half when Alexis Panariello posted her fourth goal of the season.
Out of the locker room, QC tallied the game tying goal in the 59th minute when sophomore Erin Vernillo registered her seventh goal of the season.
The Knights then registered the game winner in the 75th minute. In the final game of her career, and 69th overall, senior Gena Koutsounadis scored her first career goal. Vernillo added an insurance tally in the 83rd minute.
QC held a 14-12 shot advantage in the game, while corner kicks were even at two. Sophomore goalkeeper Megan Deak made six saves in ner for the Knights, while Brianna Bollettieri made six stops of her own for the Bears.
QC completes the 2015 campaign with a 5-8-3 overall record, and 3-4-2 mark in ECC.
