Women's Soccer Drops 3-0 Decision At St. Thomas Aquinas

SPARKILL, N.Y. - Despite outshooting St. Thomas Aquinas 12-8 in the contest, the Queens College women's soccer team fell to the host Spartans 3-0 Saturday afternoon in ECC action.

The Spartans got in the board in the 8th minute when Lindsey Sansone registered her fifth goal of the season.

Trailing by just one at intermission, the Knights surrendered a pair of second half goals.  In the 57th minute, Alyssa Rosania's seventh tally of the year pushed St. Thomas Aquinas ahead 2-0 before Sansone's second goal of the contest gave the Spartans a third goal margin.

The Knights peppered 10 shots in the second half, but were unable to push a tally across.  Junior Taylor Bonanno and senior Nicolette Scrozzo each registered a team high three shots for Queens.

Junior Kimberly Chacko made three saves in goal for the Knights.  Lauren Morales played the first half in net for St. Thomas Aquinas, making two saves.  In a relief effort, Courtney Dumain made six second save stops.

QC returns to action Saturday, Oct. 10 at 1:00 pm against Daemen.
