Narbona and Gurruchaga Score Goals in 5-2 Loss to Dowling

Shirley, N.Y. - The two countrymen from Spain, Aitor Gurruchaga and Pol Narbona, accounted for both Queens College goals in the Knights 5-2 loss to Dowling on Saturday.  Narbona leads the team with seven goals and 14 points.

The Golden Lions jumped out to a 2-0 lead on a pair of first-half goals.  Despite falling behind, 2-0, QC equaled Dowling in first-half shots (five) and took three corner kicks to their one.

QC cut the deficit in half early in the second half.  Pressing the attack out of the break, Queens earned a penalty kick in the 48th minute.  Narbona scored on the pk and the Knights were within 2-1.  Dowling responded in less than five minutes with another goal that made the score 3-1.  Gurruchaga pulled Queens within 3-2 when he came forward and put a shot off the keeper and into the net.  Dowling scored twice more and won 5-2.

The Knights are now 4-9 overall and 2-7 in the East Coast Conference.  The team returns to action on Tuesday, October 28, when they host Concordia.  The kickoff with the Clippers is slated for 3:30 PM.
