Flushing, N.Y. - The Queens College Knights women's soccer team's loss to Dowling puts them at 9-5-1 overall and 4-3 in East Coast Conference play. With the win, the Golden lions improved to 5-3 in ECC play this season.

Queens allowed a goal each half. In the first half, Christina Cottone got Dowling on the board via a penalty kick in the 20^th minute of the match. The Golden Lions's second goal of the afternoon came courtesy of Lindsey Thompson in the 79^th minute (second half) of the match.

 Down 1-0 in the second half, the Knights offense had a chance against goaltender Melissa Guglielmo after a scramble in front of the net led to a Bridget Gleason shot on goal which was held onto by Guglielmo in the 71^st minute of the game. Earlier in the half, the 61^st minute, Lisa Cassata also recorded a shot on goal.

The Knights will continue their East Coast Conference competition with a meeting against the University of Bridgeport on the campus of Queens College on Tuesday, October 29^th.
