Box Score Flushing, N.Y. - The Queens College men's soccer team used a pair of Pol Narbona goals to help defeat Georgian Court University, 3-0, in a mid-week tilt from the Knights soccer field in Flushing on Tuesday. Calvin Moyes accounted for the third QC marker.
Queens improved to 8-3-2 with the win as the team capitalized on a pair of first half goals to put the game away early. Narbona had a shot on goal that was turned aside in the 21st minute, but less than two minutes later, Glen Reid put the ball into the box for Narbona, who wouldn't be denied in this attempt, finding the back of the net for a 1-0, QC lead. Two minutes after that, Narbona kept his hot play going as he connected on his second marker of the game, putting Queens up, 2-0.
The game stayed at 2-0 into the second half, but Queens had another insurance goal early in the second stanza. Following a Knights' corner kick, Niklaus Maher took possession of the ball and he found Moyes who put the game away with his third marker of the season. The Knights went on to win 3-0.
In the victory, QC outshot the Lions, 13-5 and Sean Geoghegan made three saves to earn his fifth clean sheet of the season. Tyler Iocco also had a shot on goal in the contest.
The team returns to action on Thursday, October 24, when they host UDC in a makeup game that was originally scheduled for October 22. The kickoff time is 2:40 PM.
