FLUSHING, N.Y. – The Queens College women's soccer team had an offensive outburst Monday afternoon, as the Knights received four goals from senior Andrea Slavin and a two-goal, four-assist output from classmate Katherine Colon en route to a 14-0 victory over visiting Lincoln (Pa.).
The Knights (3-2) registered their third-consecutive clean sheet in the process and, in addition to Slavin (Floral Park, N.Y.) and Colon (W. Babylon, N.Y.), got two-goal efforts from junior Sarah Boucher (Oceanside, N.Y.) and sophomore Erika Riera (Corona, N.Y.). Single goals came off the boots of Janine Guerra (1 a), Lisa Cassata, Brittany Silipo (1 a) and Lorena Russi for QC, which outshot the Lions (0-6-1) by a 47-1 count.
Queens held a 2-0 advantage 127 seconds into the game off tallies from Slavin and Colon, and swelled to 4-nil by the 10-minute mark. Slavin wound up netting all four of her goals in the opening half of play, in which QC took a 9-0 advantage after 45 minutes.
Colon opened the second-half scoring just over a minute in, before Riera (two), Silipo and Russi rounded out the scoring.
Head coach Carl Christian's Knights are back in action Saturday afternoon (Oct. 1), when they play host to Molloy College in an East Coast Conference matchup at 12 noon.
