OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. - Junior Brittany Silipo now has four goals in the Queens College women's soccer team's last two games, including a pair of first-half tallies Saturday afternoon at President's Stadium, sending the Knights to a 2-1, East Coast Conference road victory at New York Institute of Technology.
Silipo (Bay Shore, N.Y.) scored the opening goal of the contest 13 minutes in, giving Queens (7-4-1, 3-1-1 ECC) a 1-0 advantage.
The host Bears (6-7, 1-4 ECC) equalized in the 24th minute when Natasha Arana tallied off a free kick, before Silipo pushed the Knights ahead for good less than two minutes later on her seventh goal of the season.
Queens junior keeper Allison Breakey (Frankfort, Ill.) stopped two shots to record the victory for head coach Carl Christian's QC side, who is in non-conference action Tuesday afternoon (Oct. 18), when it travels to 18th-ranked Merrimack at 4 p.m.
