The University of Bridgeport scored twice in the second half to
erase a 1-0 Knights lead on their way to a 2-1 victory in East
Coast Conference play on Saturday in Connecticut. QC has now been
outscored 9-1 in the second half of games this season.
Metri Abdul-Karim gave the Knights the 1-0 lead with a goal at
the 40:54 mark. The freshman back from Oceanside, New York to a
pass to the right of the box from Danny Stoker and beat Danny
Hernandez of UB for his first collegiate goal.
QC held the lead until late in the 55th minute when Josh
Pelegrini took a feed from Markus Naglestad and used his head to
tie the score at one. Less than 16 minutes later Naglestad scored
on another header off of a cross from Nick Campbell on the right
flank for the goal that was the difference in the match.
Dario Cabanas made seven saves for QC, who were outshot 11-6 in
the second half and 17-9 for the game.
