The Knights traveled to American International College on Wednesday October 27th to finish out the non-conference end of their 2010 regular season schedule. The road trip was all for naught as AIC beat the Knights 3-1. With the loss the Knights fall to 5-11 overall and AIC improves to 7-9-1.
The Knights missed an opportunity early when a shot fired from Eric Vasquez hit the cross bar. However the Knights struck first in the match at the 29:13 mark when Christos Koulaklis connected on an assist from teammate Eric Vazquez. The Knights outshot AIC 7-4 in the first half and held a 1-0 lead going into halftime.
AIC came out in the second half and wasted little time in evening the score. Five minutes into the half, Thomas Denomme connected on a header that was assisted by Conor Doyle to even the score at one a piece. Fifteen minutes later at the 65:27 mark, Sean Stevensen scored the go-ahead goal to put AIC up 2-1 and they never looked back. Thomas Denomme added his second goal of the match in the 85th minute to make the score 3-1 in favor of the home team.
The Knights look to get back on track this weekend as they take on conference rival, C.W Post in their last ECC Matchup of the year. With a tie or better, the Knights will lock in another playoff appearance.
