QC made it eight wins in their last nine times out by winning at
Dominican College, 4-2, in non-conference women's soccer action on
Saturday. The streak has earned the Knights the eighth spot in the
East Region rankings in the NCAA's most recent poll.
Lorena Russi took a cross from Chenelle Geoffroy and scored her
third goal this week at 16:20 to give QC the 1-0 lead. The Knights
held that advantage until the 52:25 mark when a free kick resulted
in a goal by Dominican's Kristen Haycook that tied the game at
one.
Thirteen minutes after Haycook knotted the game, QC struck for
two goals in 54 seconds to go up 3-1. Kirri Bolton scored first to
break the tie at 68:23 off of an assist from Brittany Silipo and
Janine Guerra followed with her second of the year on a shot into
the upper right hand corner of the net at 69:17 to give QC a two
goal bulge.
Laura D'Amore added some insurance in the 74th minute before
Olivia Antonopoulos made the final 4-2 by scoring with just 41
seconds left in the contest.
