BROOKVILLE, N.Y.- Despite a rally In the third-set, the Queens College women's volleyball team was unable to avoid a three-set sweep by the Pioneers of LIU Post (12-8, 4-2 ECC) Friday evening inside the Pratt Recreation Center. The set scores were 25-16, 25-8, 25-18.
Queens (1-15, 0-6 ECC) were led by Lauren Kehoe and Maryjane D'Agostino four kills. While Briana Green tallied two kills and five blocks on the night. Vanessa Juengerkes led the Knights with 10 assists, while Gina Giacalone paced the Knights with nine digs.
Despite down 2-0 going into the third set, Queens attempted a comeback as the two sides traded points before the Pioneers pushed a 9-1 run to take a 17-9 advantage. Trailing 23-13, the Knights attempted one last push into the match as they cut the double digits deficit down to six but ultimately falling 25-18 in the third set.
