QC Volleyball Drops Five Setter To NYIT In Season Finale

FLUSHING, N.Y. - The Queens College volleyball team dropped a hard fought five set matchup to NYIT Tuesday evening at FitzGerald Gymnasium.  Set scores were 25-15, 23-25, 16-25, 25-11, 16-14 in favor of the visiting Bears.

Sophomore Nicoletta DiCocco and freshmen Lauren Kehoe and Cassidy Stewart tallied a team best eight kills apiece in the contest.  DiCocco also registered nine digs, while junior Ragina Anthony led the Knights with 23 digs.  Junior Kristen Moore was credited with 24 assists and 11 digs for her ninth double-double of the season.

Tiffany Verni led NYIT with 15 kills while Karolina Moderova added 12 of her own.  Allison Fowler contributed 13 digs and 34 assists.

Prior to the start of the match, the Knights recognized outgoing seniors Tori Bowser, Elizabeth Devivo and Michelle Gomez.  QC completes its 2016 season with an overall record of 7-20, and 3-11 mark in East Coast Conference play.
