Volleyball Duo Earns ECC Weekly Honors

CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. - A pair of Queens College volleyball players were recognized by the East Coast Conference this past week, a week in which the Knights went 2-0 in league play.  Junior Kristen Moore was named Setter of the Week, while freshman Lauren Kehoe was named Rookie of the Week.

Moore registered two double-doubles with 80 assists and 21 digs over the two wins. She posted 36 assists and 11 digs in a three set road win over Mercy. Moore then tallied a season best 44 assists and 10 digs in a three set win over Bridgeport at home. On the week, Moore averagedan ECC-high 13.33 assists per set, as well.

Kehoe tallied 20 kills over two matches. Kehoe, who hit .241, opened the week with 12 kills and four digs in a three set win over Mercy. Later in the week, she posted eight kills and eightdigs in a three set win over Bridgeport, handing the Purple Knights just their second league loss of the season.

The Knights, 3-8 in league action this season, next match up with Molloy Tuesday evening at 6:00 pm.
