Roberts Wesleyan Too Much For QC Volleyball

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Queens College volleyball team dropped a three set decision to Roberts Wesleyan Friday evening in East Coast Conference action.  Set scores were 25-15, 25-17, 25-22.

Freshman Cassidy Stewart led the Knights with 10 kills, while senior Tori Bowser and sophomores Nicoletta DiCocco and Malaika Hollis all registered six kills apiece.

In the opening set, the Redhawks took the early control, jumping out to a 7-1 lead and never looking back.  RWC also gained an early lead in the second set, and were propelled by a late five point stretch that pushed them to a 2-0 lead in the match.

In the third set, the two teams traded points with Queens taking a 12-8 lead on a DiCocco kill.  With the game tied at 19, Roberts Wesleyan finished the match off with a 6-3 run, finishing the match on an ace by Courtney Taylor.

Alexandre Tahauri finished with a game-high 16 kills for the Redhawks, while Elisabeth Rivera contributed 33 assists.
