STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The Queens College men's and women's track & field teams competed in the East Coast Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships on Friday night from the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex. The Knights finished eighth in the men's standings and ninth on the women's side.
Skandal Delince led Queens with a second place finish in the men's long jump, leaping for a mark of 6.38 meters. Delince also finished 12th in the triple jump and posted the 14th-best time in the 60-meter dash preliminaries at 7.54.
Jacob Lascano finished seventh in the men's mile run, posting a time of 4:47.45. Yitzchak Rayman and Jared Coupe led the Knights in the field. Rayman took fifth in the men's weight throw with a toss of 12.33 meters, followed by Coupe in sixth at 11.82 meters. Coupe also finished 11th in the shot put with a mark of 11.02 meters, while Rayman placed 13th with a mark of 10.43 meters.
Ronsheica Trotman picked up a fifth place finish in the women's 400-meter run with a time of 1:00.35, while Nakeema Neunie placed ninth at 1:06.78. Damira Banks finished third in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.10, while the sprinter also placed seventh in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.04.
Banks was also the Knights' top finisher in the 200-meter dash in 12th at 26.51, while Trotman was 14th at 26.84. Olivia Smithwick finished seventh in the women's weight throw with a mark of 12.27 meters, while Nicole Weinsheimer and Renee Lustin finished ninth and 11th, respectively.
