Ortega Jover Named to ECC Women's Tennis Weekly Honor Roll Ahead of Conference Tournament

WEST BABYLON, N.Y. (Oct. 25, 2018) - Senior Laura Ortega Jover of the Queens College women's tennis team has had a spectacular season for the Knights that saw her earn a spot on the final East Coast Conference Weekly Honor Roll of the year with her team heading to the ECC Tournament this weekend.

Ortega Jover was one of two players for the Knights who went 4-0 on the week as the team clinched the No. 1 overall seed in the upcoming ECC Tournament. The senior from Spain won her singles and doubles matches against Roberts Wesleyan with relative ease before shutting out Daemen's Courtney Otis (6-0, 6-0) at third-singles on Saturday. Ortega Jover will go into the ECC Tournament with an 11-1 singles record and an 8-2 total mark in doubles play.

The Knights will host fourth-seeded Roberts Wesleyan in the conference semifinals on Saturday (Oct. 27) at 11 a.m.
