Women's Tennis Clinches Second Seed In ECC Championship

FLUSHING, N.Y. - The Queens College women's tennis team clinched the second seed in the 2016 East Coast Conference championship following an 8-1 setback to NYIT Monday afternoon.  In a meeting of unbeaten teams, the visiting Bears earned the victory and the regular season championship.

With the result, the Knights will face off with third seeded LIU Post in the semifinals, while NYIT and UDC will face off in the other semifinal.  The two winners will compete in the championship final Saturday afternoon.  All matches will be held at the Queens College Tennis Center.

Against NYIT, the Knights picked up their lone victory in the match in 6th singles as Araceli Bel Aleixendri won in straight sets 6-0, 6-0.
