Women's Tennis Sweeps Roberts Wesleyan In ECC Matchup

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Queens College women's tennis team improved to 7-0 on the season with a 9-0 victory over Roberts Wesleyan Friday afternoon.  The Knights also move to 5-0 in East Coast Conference play with the win.

In the sweep, the Knights gained all three doubles points in impressive fashion.  Angelika Sobiecka and Emy Alplund took 1st doubles 8-3.  Laura Ortega Jover and Line Sorsdahl Aasen won in 2nd doubles by an identical score, while Araceli Bel Aleixendri and Ruth Artaza Martin won 3rd doubles 8-2.

In singles, Sobiecka picked up a 6-0, 6-0 victory in the 3rd flight.  In 5th singles, Aasen won 6-2, 6-2 while Bel Aleixendri won 6-1, 6-3 in 6th singles.  Ortega Jover captured a 6-0, 6-4 win in 1st singles, with Alplund grabbing a 6-2, 6-2 win in 4th singles.
