Queens’ Strong Defensive Performance Not Enough Against Felician

LYNDHURST, N.J. – The Queens College women's soccer team limited Felician University to just two shots on goal for the game, but the Knights dropped a heartbreaker, 1-0, on Wednesday. Queens' record now stands at 1-5-1, while Felician moves to 2-4-1.

The Knights outshot the Golden Falcons, 8-4, and put three more shots on goal (5-2).

Senior Erin Vernillo took three shots, including two shots on goal, while junior Adriana Mendrinos took two shots, including one shot being on goal. Senior Taylor Bonanno and sophomore Guro Eriksen each took a shot that was on goal as well. 

Felician's Vanessa Driskill scored the game's lone goal at the 40:25 mark, while Joanne Arvanitakis recorded an assist during the matchup. Meanwhile, Felician goalkeeper Jamie Kazenmayer stopped all five of the Knights' shots.

Queens will return home this Saturday, Sept. 23, at 12 p.m., as the Knights face off against the University of Bridgeport in East Coast Conference (ECC) play.
