BRIDGEPORT, CT - On Wednesday evening, the Queens College women's soccer team dropped a 9-0 decision to the Purple Knights of University of Bridgeport in East Coast Conference action. With the loss, the Knights moved to 4-11-1 overall, 1-5-1 in ECC play, while the Purple Knights remained undefeated in conference action, 7-0, and improved their overall mark to 13-3.
The Purple Knights got on the board with barely a minute gone by as Agirre Idoia scored the game winner in the 44 second of the first half, The Purple Knights would go on to score four more goals to take a 5-0 lead into the half. Junior Vaso Platis' shot in the 13 minute was blocked before freshman Brooke Delano's attempt on goal was saved by Purple Knights goalie Melanie Ziegner.
Bridgeport racked up four more goals to win convincingly over QC. The Knights were outshot 25-3 and conceded 10 corners on the night. The Purple Knights have now outscored their ECC counterparts 43-3 this season.
UP NEXT: The Knights conclude the regular season Sunday, Oct. 30 as they travel to Rockville Center, NY, to play the Golden Lions of Molloy College with kickoff set for 12:00 pm.
