Women's Lacrosse Bested at No. 6 LIU Post

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – The Queens College women's lacrosse team faced a tough challenge on Wednesday against the No. 6 Pioneers of LIU Post, falling on the road in East Coast Conference (ECC) action, 22-0.

The Pioneers, ranked 6th in the nation in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Coaches Poll and 5th in the Nike/US Lacrosse Rankings, improved to 9-1 overall and 5-0 in the ECC. Meanwhile, the Knights dropped to 0-9 (0-5 ECC).

LIU Post scored 13 goals in the first half and tallied nine more in the second half to reach the 22-0 final. Connor Bird, Ryan McKinney and Alexis Newman scored four goals apiece for the Pioneers, while Angela Deren had two goals and five assists.

For Queens, senior goalie Basma Attieh made five saves, while sophomore Patriece Ausili had four draw controls and three caused turnovers. Queens was outshot, 29-2.

The Knights will return home on Saturday, April 15, for a 1 p.m. contest against Post University.
