Flushing, N.Y. - The Queens College Lacrosse team will hold its annual Think Pink game this Saturday, April 19, versus Roberts Wesleyan at 9:30 AM on campus in Flushing. The game is a way to raise awareness for breast cancer research.
The event and game will be in the memory of Mrs. Elizabeth Devivo, mother of current freshman, defender, Elizabeth Devivio. Mrs. Devivo was diagnosed with breast cancer in October of 1998. She succumbed to the illness this past September, following a 13-year fight with the disease.
Every year it’s estimated that over 22000 women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer and more than 40,000 will die. In fact, one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.
The Queens College lacrosse team will be wearing pink on parts of their uniform and those in attendance are encouraged to wear pink as well.
