Kahli Evans Turns Aside 11 Shots in Loss to St. Thomas Aquinas

Sparkill, N.Y. - The Queens College lacrosse team fell to St. Thomas Aquinas, 21-7, in an East Coast Conference lacrosse game played in Sparkill, New York, on Tuesday.  Kahli Evans had 13 saves for the Knights.

QC fell behind 9-0 in the first half before Taylor Martello got Queens on the scoreboard with 1:08 remaining as she beat the Spartans' goalie on a free position shot.  STAC scored one more time before the half was over to lead 10-1 at the break.

The Knights had more of a scoring blitz in the second half, finding the back of the net six times.  Queens scored three times in the first two minutes of action in the second half as Kristen Korzevinski won the draw and scored unassisted.  A minute later, Martello hooked up with Janet Campo for the score.  The Knights third goal in the scoring spree came forty seconds later when Martello scored her second goal of the match.  QC now trailed 11-4.

Martello would score two more times and Gabby Casanova would score once as the Knights fell, 21-7.  The team is now 1-6 overall and 1-3 in ECC play.

Carly Chierico won seven draw controls for the Knights.  Martello had five and Samantha Wolf had four.

The Queens College lacrosse team returns to action on Saturday, April 5, when they host Dowling at 1:00 PM.
