Mad. Rowland Nets 26 Points As No. 18 Women's Basketball Improves To 2-0

BRIDGEPORT, CT - Senior Madison Rowland posted 26 points in the No. 18  Queens College women's basketball team's 64-54 victory over Philadelphia U. in its second game of the UB Crossover Classic Sunday afternoon.

Mad. Rowland connected on 11 field goals, and also added seven rebounds, two steals and two blocks to her stat line.  Junior Merrick Rowland registered 11 points and eight rebounds while senior MacKenzie Rowland tallied 10 points and eight rebounds.

The Knights held the Rams to 28.0% shooting from the field, while connecting on 40.7% of their chances.  QC dominated inside, outscoring Phila U. 28-12 on points in the paint.

Queens scored the first six points of the game, before a 7-0 run swung the advantage in the Rams' favor.  From there a 7-0 surge in for QC put the Knights ahead for good.  Queens kept a distance from Phila U. and led by as many as 19 in the game late in the third quarter.

The Rams were led by Jessica Kaminski's 21 points and Rachel Day's 16.  The Knights are back in action Wednesday evening against Roberts Wesleyan (7:00 pm).
