ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Nov. 3, 2018) - The Queens College cross country teams wrapped up the 2018 fall campaign with a seventh place finish in both meets at the East Coast Conference Championship on Saturday (Nov. 3) in Rochester.
Senior Diana Cruz posted a 22nd-place time of 20:52.6 over the course to lead the Knights with Simone Gmuca finishing not far behind in 26th place (21:08.5). Crystal Jia finished 39th out of 78 total racers in a time of 21:52.5. Roberts Wesleyan won the championship on its home course with the top eight spots (and top-six scoring spots) belonging to the Redhawks. Ashley Watson of Roberts Wesleyan won the conference title by completing the 5K race in a time of 19:02.3.
In the men's race, Noel Guzman got to the finish line in a 40th-place time of 29:13.9, about a second-and-a-half faster than teammate Clivensky Etienne (29:15.3) who finished the race in 41st place. Roberts Wesleyan also claimed the victory in the men's meet but NYIT's Noah Simatei cut the finish line tape with a time of 25:48.9, averaging a 5:12 mile. The Redhawks placed 2-3-4-5-7-8-10 to earn the necessary points to claim the team victory.
