FLUSHING, N.Y. – Queens College head men's basketball coach Matt Collier has announced that the Knights will be playing an exhibition game against the University of Connecticut Huskies on Sunday, Nov. 5.
"Queens College men's basketball is honored to have the opportunity to compete in an exhibition game with the Huskies," Collier stated. "Representing the QC Knights while facing one of the best programs in college basketball is tremendously exciting for all of us. Our program is looking forward to preparing for a new season with the game at UConn as well as showcasing Queens College."
The game will take place either on UConn's campus at Gampel Pavilion in Storrs, Conn., or at the XL Center in Hartford. The determined location of the exhibition will be announced at a later date.
In Collier's first season at the helm in 2016-17, the Knights made their first East Coast Conference (ECC) Tournament appearance since the 2013-14 season, while going 13-13 overall and 10-8 in conference competition. It was the most wins for the program since the 2010-11 campaign, and it was the most conference wins for the Knights in four seasons.
A Division I program with a storied history of national success, UConn has won four national titles (1999, 2004, 2011, 2014). The Huskies, who are part of the American Athletic Conference, went 16-17 overall and 9-9 in conference play last season, while reaching the semifinals of the American Championship.
