Fencing Opens Year At Vassar Invitational

The Queens College fencing team opened the season at the Vassar Invitational.

Northwestern vs QC:
24- 3 loss to the Div I powerhouse.  Fatima Maryam, in her first bout for Queens College, scored a win. In the second round, trying to turn things around, Sabrina Decopain and Nicole Michaels each scored a victory.

Vassar vs QC:
20-7 loss.  Fatima Maryam won 2, lost 1.  Sabrina Decopain won 2, lost 1.
 

Wellesley vs QC:
20-7 loss.  Angela Acevedo reverses the slump with 3 wins, 0 losses. 

Drew vs QC:
22-5 loss.  Sabrina Decopain won 2, lost 1.  Angela Acevedo won 2, lost 1.

Tufts vs QC:
21-6 loss.  Sharon Groenow won 2, lost 1.  Sabrina Decopain won 2, lost 1. 

Incarnate Word (Div 1) vs Queens:
17-10 loss.  Sabrina Decopan won 2, lost 1.  Nicole Michaels won 2, lost 1.  Sharon Groenow won 2, lost 1.

LIU vs QC:
16-11 Win. Sharon Groenow won 3, lost 0.
