Queens College Athletics Receives $500K Grant to Renovate Track from Local Assemblywoman

FLUSHING, N.Y. (Sept. 10, 2018) - Earlier this month, the Queens College athletic track took center stage as Queens Assemblywoman Nily Rozic pledged to donate $500,000 to renovate the college's outdoor track as part of full-scale funding to the Queens College Capital plan.

Rozic was flanked by members of the Queens College community---including President Felix Matos Rodriguez, Senior Woman Administrator Bet Naumovski and members of the QC cross country, soccer and track teams---when she made the announcement along with New York State Senator Toby Ann Stavisky.

"Queens College is a cornerstone of our community that provides quality, affordable education for students of all backgrounds and academic pursuits," Rozic said. "As Queens College continues upgrading campus facilities, expanding degree programs, and building community partnerships, it is my privilege to provide funding that will allow Queens College to achieve its mission of serving students and the Queens community."

The outdoor track is one of the many outdoor facilities enjoyed by Queens College student-athletes, which include the field surrounded by the track for soccer and lacrosse games.
