    NCAS and U.S. Fund for UNICEF Visit Queens College Asking Students to “Shut Out Trafficking” Students at Queens College will participate in a week-long effort February 8-15 to help end human trafficking and forced labor, an issue that affects an estimated 21 million people globally, with 5.5 million estimated to be child victims.

    Men's Soccer Volunteers At Town of North Hempstead's Spooky Walk The Queens College men's soccer team recently volunteered at the Town of North Hempstead's Spooky Walk. The team assisted with staffing the festive event at Clark Botanical Gardens and had a great time in doing so. The players got into the spirit of things, dressing up and interacting with all of the kids visiting the Spooky Walk.

    Knights Volunteer To Help Build Local Playground On Friday, Sept. 23, members of the Queens College men's and women's basketball and softball teams helped with the building of a new playground for more than 2,000 kids at the Bay Terrace Center. The Knights were introduced to the project by Jessica Sanchez, women’s basketball alum (Class of 2008), the Assistant Athletic Director at the Samuel Field Y.

    QC Women's Hoops Promotes Literacy At Local School In collaboration with the NYPD, the Queens College women's basketball team attended PS 184 in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn to assist the school with their literacy campaign. The team read books to students ranging from Pre-K to 5th grade, and signed autographs.

    Swimming And Diving Coaches Discuss Eligibity Requirements At Local Presentation Queens College men’s and women’s swim and dive coaches, Yohancey Kingston and Alicia Lampasso-Dillon, returned to Queens High School of Teaching to make a presentation on the preparation and guidance of high school students who plan on becoming collegiate student-athletes. They spoke to 15 guidance counselors, coaches and other faculty members at the Professional Development Day.

    Lacrosse Team Donates Time to Materials for the Arts Taking a brief respite for the lacrosse season, the Queens College lacrosse team spent Wednesday night donating their time and effort to the Materials for the Arts organization in Long Island City. The team chipped in by sorting and organizing numerous donations received by the charity. This is the second-straight year they’ve donated time to this unique charity.

    Queens College Women’s Basketball Participates in the Basketball Buddies Program The Queens College women’s basketball team took time out of their schedule on Thursday to participate in the Basketball Buddies Program at the Samuel Field Y in Queens. In what has become an annual event, the team was pair with special needs children and young adults aged 5-21 to act as friends and mentors. This was the second straight year the team has participated in the event.

    Queens College Volleyball Helps Spruce up Community Garden On Friday, September 26, the Queens College volleyball team used their day off from classes to give back to the community. Working with the International Community Rescue Group and New York Cares the team lent their strength to the Garden and New Roots Community Farm in the Bronx, do some much-needed chores before winter season is upon New York City.
