FLUSHING, N.Y. (Apr. 12, 2018) - It happened earlier this month back on Apr. 4 in San Juan on the island of Puerto Rico. Queens College men's basketball alum Diego Maldonado was chosen No. 13 overall and as the fourth pick in the second round of the BSL Draft to play in one of the world's top leagues in the American commonwealth.
The Queens College Athletics Hall of Fame will be inducting eight new members into the distinguished group at the sixth annual Golf Classic and Hall of Fame Dinner on Friday, Oct. 13, at Harbor Links Golf Club in Port Washington, N.Y.
Pete Ginnegar, a member of the Queens College Hall of Fame and QC alumnus, has been named head coach of the Uganda National Lacrosse Team, it was announced by the Uganda Lacrosse Association last week.
Shonda Holder '05 is the Queens College women's basketball team's all-time leading scorer at the Division II level. Over four seasons, she scored 1,745 points and also ranks second in rebounds with 1,096. An All-ECC Second Team honoree in 2005, Holder was a two-time Daktronics Division II Northeast Region First Team selection. After graduation, Holder spent time as an assistant at both Adelphi and LIU Post.
Meet Steve Nicokiris, a Little Neck, N.Y. native and 1981 Queens College graduate. An Academic-All American baseball player at Queens, Nicokiris graduated with a degree in Accounting and Information System and now works for CBIZ MHM, LLC.
